Diversified Techniques

Dr. Ernie von Schilling is trained to perform several techniques and uses the one that will be best for each individual patient. One adjusting style is commonly known as “Diversified” and another is the IQ Impulse Instrument adjusting.

First before each treatment, he will analyze your spine by feeling the spinal joints move as you turn and bend. Also he will check for any imbalances in your pelvis and lower spine.

Diversified Technique

With the malposition of one or more spinal bones identified, Dr. von Schilling will then adjust either using the adjusting Instrument or with a specific manual thrust is administered. The direction, speed, depth and angle that are used is the result of years of experience, practice and a thorough understanding of spinal mechanics.

What does an IQ Impulse adjusting instrument feel like? The instrument feels like a light tapping sensation on the area that is being treated. In most cases the treatment is painless and after the adjustment many patients feel relief of pain and improved mobility. Others report a sense of well being or a soothing calm feeling.

Of course, effectiveness varies from patient case to patient case and chronic conditions, inflammations or muscle spasms may delay results.

The energy delivered during the thrust may produce a slight “popping” sound from the shifting of gas and fluids in the joint. This sound may be interesting, but is not a guide as to the value or effectiveness of the adjustment.
